What we collect — and why it matters
We collect your legal business information (including EIN, business address, and website) for one purpose only: to register your business with U.S. wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile) under the federal A2P 10DLC program. Without this registration, carriers will block your text messages.
How we protect it: All form submissions are encrypted in transit. EIN and identification documents are stored in our restricted-access systems and viewable only by our founder and credentialed onboarding specialists. We do not sell, share, or use this information for any purpose other than carrier registration and compliance.
Full details in our Privacy Policy and Master Service Agreement. If you don't have an EIN yet, you can still sign up — we'll guide you through obtaining one (it's free and takes ~10 minutes at IRS.gov).
You'll be taken to Stripe to complete your setup payment ($0 with FOUNDERSFREE for the first 10 customers, $197 with FOUNDING100 after that, or $297 standard). Once your payment confirms, our implementation specialist starts building your sub-account immediately. You'll get an email within 1-2 business days with your new LeadTap phone number, login credentials, and a link to schedule your kickoff call.
Most customers are fully live within 3-5 business days. Here's what determines the timeline:
Days 1-2: Your sub-account is built, your LeadTap phone number is provisioned, and missed-call text-back is configured. You receive your dashboard credentials by email.
Days 3-5: A2P 10DLC carrier registration completes (a federal compliance step that lets your number send SMS to US carriers). This is out of our control and depends on carrier review queues — typically 1-3 business days but can extend up to 7-10 in some cases.
Possible delays: If the legal business information you provide doesn't match what's on file with your state's Secretary of State or the IRS, carriers may reject your A2P registration. We'll catch most issues before submission, but if a rejection happens, we'll work with you to correct and resubmit (typically adds 1-3 days). Common causes: business name typos, EIN mismatches, or DBA names not registered as legal entities.
Cancel anytime, no contracts, no questions asked. Your monthly subscription stops at the end of your current billing period. The setup fee is non-refundable since the work is done up-front, but you keep your account configurations and data. Most founding customers stay because the math works — but the door is always unlocked.
Yes — you keep your current business number forever. We give you a new LeadTap number that forwards calls to your cell. You can change forwarding rules, hours, or pause forwarding anytime. We never touch your existing number unless you specifically ask us to port it (which is a different process and only for committed long-term customers).
Yes. Your customer data is yours — we never sell it, share it, or use it for any purpose other than serving you. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Our backend (GoHighLevel) is SOC 2 Type II compliant. If you ever cancel, we provide a full export of your customer list at no charge.

Carrier review typically takes 1-3 business days but can extend up to 7-10 in some cases. Timelines may extend further if your provided legal business information (legal entity name, EIN, business address) doesn't match official records. We'll communicate any delays directly and help correct any mismatches at no additional cost.
